“ … Here is another one. A change in what Human nature will allow for government. "Careful, Kryon, don't talk about politics. You'll get in trouble." I won't get in trouble. I'm going to tell you to watch for leadership that cares about you. "You mean politics is going to change?" It already has. It's beginning. Watch for it. You're going to see a total phase-out of old energy dictatorships eventually. The potential is that you're going to see that before 2013.

They're going to fall over, you know, because the energy of the population will not sustain an old energy leader ..."

RI must achieve 8 main objectives in next 10 years: President

Bandung (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a speech at Pajajaran University here on Wednesday said the country must strive to achieve eight main objectives in the next 10 years.

"The first objective is reduction of the poverty rate," the president said in his oration titled "Development of National Competitive Power to Become a Developed Country" on the occasion of the university`s 50th anniversary.

The second objective was creation of job opportunities to accommodate the growing work force as another effort to reduce poverty.

The third was economic development supported by the pillars of agriculture, industry and services, while the other five objectives were food resilience, energy resilience, good governance, creation of a safe domestic environment and the role of regional governments.

With the adoption of the natinal decentralization policy, the president said, it was expected that regional governments in the future would encourage local universities to develop their respective regions.

To make it happen, Yudhoyono said there were five paradigms, namely national integrated development, research- and science-based development, even distribution of development, national independence and resilience, and the involvement of all elements of the nation in development.

On the occasion, the head of state also warned the nation against being pessimistic in facing the future because, he said, there was no shortcut to prosperity.

Meanwhile, National Education Minister Bambang Sudibyo said President Yudhoyono`s visits to a number of universities in the country was part of his efforts to motivate them to become world-class institutes of higher learning.

"Universities in Indonesia at present are trying to achieve world-class status," Bambang Sudibyo said, adding that a legal umbrella for education was being discussed in the House of Representatives (DPR).

The legal umbrella for education, according to him, was intended to enhance the academic world`s autonomy with accountability because autonomy was a prerequisite of creativity.
