JAKARTA: Former Indramayu land agency chief Muhammad Ihwan was arrested by prosecutors for his alleged role in a power plant construction graft case that allegedly cost the state Rp 42 billion in losses.
"We arrested Ihwan yesterday. He was taken directly to the AGO's prison for further questioning," newly appointed Attorney General's Office (AGO) spokesman Babul Khoir Harahap said in a press release issued Thursday.
Babul said Ihwan was suspected of having inflated the price of an 82-hectare plot of land (from Rp 22,000 per square meter to Rp 42,000 per square meter) that had been allocated for a power plant project in 2004. - JP
