President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono lauded Monday the performance of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (ISX) in 2009 amid the global downturn.
"On behalf of the state, the government and myself, I would like to thank you for your hard work in improving the performance of the bourse," he said during a visit to the ISX, as quoted by kompas.com.
The ISX composite index closed at 2,534.536 on the last day of trading of 2009, 87 percent up from the level of 1,355.408 at the end of 2008.
Yudhoyono said he expected the exchange’s performance would be even better in 2010.
