Vice President Boediono said Wednesday the government would focus on improvement in four aspects-- infrastructure, regulations, social cohesion and innovation ability -- to accelerate the economy.
Infrastructure is needed to cut business costs, and regulations will support to attract investment, he said in the opening of a seminar on economic outlook in Bank Indonesia (BI)’s office.
He added that the government would strive to reduce the poverty rate to 8 percent in time from the current 14.15 percent.
Innovations should also be developed as a country would need to depend more on good human resources in the long term, than natural resources in the short and medium terms.
"A country that depends only on natural resources will not have sustainable growth. We should improve education to improve in turn the quality of human resources," said Boediono.
