Jakarta
(ANTARA News) - Anti-corruption culture will be included in the curriculum from
elementary school to university, stated the Minister for National Development
Planning Armida Alisyahbana.
"The
Ministry of Education and Culture will include anti-corruption education in the
curriculum from elementary school to university," Armida announced after
attending a meeting on the National Strategy for Corruption Eradication chaired
by Vice President Boediono at his office on Tuesday.
Also
present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and
Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa,
Minister of the National Development Planning Board Armida Alisyahbana, State
Administrative Reform Minister Azwar Abubakar, Coordinating Minister for
Economy Hatta Rajasa, Finance Minister Agus Martowardoyo, Attorney General
Basri Arif, National Board of Land Affairs Chief Joyo Winoto, Deputy Education
Minister Musliar Kasim, Deputy Transportation Minister Bambang Susantono,
Deputy Health Minister Ali Ghufron, and Home Affairs Ministry Inspector General
Maliki Heru Santoso.
Armida
expressed hope that with this inclusion, students would gain more knowledge
about the culture of anti-corruption.
He added
that the government also planned to stage intensive anti-corruption campaigns
in an interesting format that would be easily understood by the community.
