Sri Mulyani Indrawati can take comfort in the fact that though she has lost — or most likely happily abandoned — her position as Indonesian finance minister, she will be raking in an annual salary package of nearly $500,000 at the World Bank.
According to the World Bank Web site, the 47-year-old will rake in an annual base salary of $347,050 to supervise 47 nations in three Regions: Latin America and Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, and East Asia and the Pacific.
It is a far cry from her current salary of a little over $24,000.
In addition to the sizable base salary — the equivalent of more than 2.1 million packs of the local staple of packaged noodles — she will receive an additional $129,450 in benefits.
