The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairman Chandra M. Hamzah answered a Facebook group’s invitation by attending the group Forum Silaturahmi Facebookers Indonesia (FESBI) gathering in Jakarta, on Sunday.
FESBI is the embryo of the Facebook-based group that supports Chandra and another KPK deputy chairman Bibit Samad Rianto regarding their criminalization by the police force in a possible bribery case.
“I was invited so I came,” Chandra said as quoted by kompas.com, adding that Bibit could not attend the gathering because he had a work meeting in Manado.
Chandra denied allegations that stated he was looking for more support to face a legal suit in the case. The South Jakarta District Court recently ordered a trial of Chandra and Bibit.
The Sunday’s gathering discussed government’s policies and system that opposed the established law, which has hampered public needs.
