AGO examining witnesses in BP Migas graft case

Antara News, Friday, May 7, 2010 01:10 WIB

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Attorney General`s Office is questioning a number of witnesses in an alleged graft case at the Upstream Oil and Gas Executive Agency (BP Migas) believed to have inflicted US$32 million in losses to the state.

"Right now we are still examining witnesses," Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Marwan Effendy said here on Thursday.

He said none had been named a suspect in the case.

"We have yet to name any suspect because we still have to examine witnesses," he said.

The case surrounds insurance for any equipment owned by BP Migas.

But Arminsyah, the AGO`s head of investigation for special crimes, said the insurance had not as yet materialized.

"It is worth alleging that there has been indication of corruption in the realization of insurance for the equipment," he said.
