The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will supervise the use of Rp 14 trillion in school operational funds extended to schools across the country to support the free nine year education program.
Deputy KPK chief for corruption prevention Mohammad Jasin said on Tuesday the commission and the National Education Ministry had set up an online report system, which allows the public to file reports with the anti-graft body on any misuse of the funds.
“The public can report any irregularity either to KPK or the National Education Ministry,” Jasin was quoted by Antara after a seminar on anticorruption education in Jakarta.
The ministry’s secretary general, Dodi Nandika, said the government would help the KPK prevent misuse of the funds.
The two institutions have been working together in promoting the anticorruption movement among students. Jasin said the two were preparing a module on anticorruption that would be on trial in 86 senior high schools across the country.
