Garuda books profit of Rp683.6 billion

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Garuda Indonesia booked an unaudited operational profit of Rp683.6 billion in 2008 which was higher than the net profit of the previous year. 

Its president director, Emirsyah Satar said at the Luncheon of Financing 8 New Boeing 737-800NG DAE Capital-Garuda Indonesia here on Tuesday "we kept growing in the past two years. 

"He said the state-owned airline company also recorded an improvement in its on time performance (OTP). While its OTP in 2007 was 76.73 percent in 2008 it improved to 84.11 percent. 

The company recorded the load of passengers in 2008 reached 76.53 percent which was lower than the year before which was recorded at 77.46 percent. 

He said the company`s operational income in 2007 reached Rp13.1 trillion while in 2008 it was recorded at Rp18.1 trillion.
