Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government will decide in August on lowering the corporate income tax rate for publicly-listed firms as a way to attract more companies to go public, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said.
"At the moment, the tax office and Bapepam are still doing some exercises on it. The objective is to increase the number of listed companies and public ownership," she said.
Bapepam is the capital market regulator.
The corporate income tax rate now ranges from 10 pct to 30 pct.
