Jambi (ANTARA News) - Jambi`s exports of gas and crude palm oil in 2006 significantly increased by about 143.13 percent in volume and 127 percent in value, head of the Provincial Industry and Trade Office`s Foreign Trade Office Zainal Abidin said here Saturday.
Zaenal said Jambi`s export volume of gas in 2005 reached 110.842 tons valued at US$60.174 million in 2005, while the volume increased to 601.946 tons valued at US$246.8 million.
Meanwhile, the export value of crude palm oil was recorded at 309.586 tons worth US$95 million in 2005, and the volume was up to 354.032 tons worth US$133.5 million in 2006, he said.
The total volume of the two commodities in 2005 reached 420,428 tons worth US$155.171 million and the volume went up to 955,976 tons valued at US$380,367 million in 2006, Zainal said.
The biggest volume of gas was produced by Petrocina and Conoco Philips and the biggest volume of crude palm oil was produced by PT Inti Indosawit and state plantation company PTPN VI in Jambi, he said.
Jambi`s main export destinations for its natural gas and crude palm oil are Europe and Asia, he said.
