Bank Indonesia cuts benchmark interest rate by 25 bps

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Bank Indonesia has cut its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points (bps) to 9.25 pct on expectations that its inflation target for this year and next are obtainable, BI public relations director Budi Mulya told reporters.

"But room for further cuts is getting narrower," he said.

The central bank's inflation target for this year is 5-7 pct and 4-6 pct in 2008.
