TEMPO Interactive, Dubai: About 170 Indonesian enterprises are taking part in the Indonesia Solo Exhibition in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and transactions are targeted at US$15 million.“This is a 10 percent growth compared to the previous exhibition that was held in Sharjah,” said Syahrul R. Sampurna Jaya, Head of Center for Development of Middle East and Africa Market at the National Exports Development Agency at Dubai yesterday (12/17).
The exhibition is taking place at the World Trade Center building between 15 December and 20 December.
The International Autumn Trade Fair 2006, held by the government of Dubai and Style Hong Kong, is also taking place simultaneously at the same location.
The Dubai government, said Syahrul, has invited around 25,000 potential buyers to attend the exhibitions.
“Because of this, we are confident that the transactions will exceed US$15 million,” he said.
In the previous exhibitions, Indonesia had only sent around 30 companies.
“Now, they are around 170 companies. We have also rented more space,” said Syahrul.
The Middle East market, according to him, is very potential to be developed compared to other markets.
The reason for this is that, added Syahrul, regulations as well as terms and conditions at the Middle East market are far more flexible. In addition, with the increase in global oil prices, the region has enjoyed extremely rapid economic growth.
