Bandung, West Java, December 1, 2006 - Hungary is very serious about increasing cooperation in tourism and investment sector with West Java, an Indonesian official said.
The Hungarian wish was expressed by Ambassador Mihaly Illes in a meeting with West Java deputy governor Abdul Hakim here Friday, West Java cultural and tourism office head Budhiyana said.
Illes offered West Java cultural and tourism officials free facility to visit Budhapest.
Budhiyana said a number of Hungarian tourists visiting West Java notably Bandung has been increasing lately.
About 3,000 Indonesians visited Hungary annually, mostly for business purposes, while an average of 1.500 Hungarians arrived in Indonesia each year, he said.
Two seasons, the rainy and dry seasons as well as cultural heritage are important factors that have successfully lured Hungarian travelers to go to West Java, notably Bandung, Budhiyana said.
To follow up on the tourism promotion plan with West Java the Hungarian government will hold a tourism exhibition in the province next year, he said.
